This circular walk leaves the town and goes via Heip Hill on designated tracks and minor roads to contour around Borthaugh Hill, with views across Borthwick Water and River Teviot to Goldielands Tower. A minor road and riding route rises to St Leonards Park (Hawick Mair). Now on open fields the walk takes in Pilmuir Rig and Winnington Rig before skirting Acreknowe Reservoir, Williestruther Loch and Vertish Hill golf course. Good views all the way and a bit of history.
