The walk starts at Castleweary on a forest road, then on to the old bridle path in typical Border Reiver hill country past Colterscleuch Shiel across Southdean Burn to Alderybar, Lochburnfoot to Hawick via St. Leonards Park. The Hawick Cornet and his followers use this route every May on the ride-out to Mosspaul Hotel. Sponsor: It’s Great Outdoors
